Protos reports Bastille was doxxed by former partner who alleges abuse, coercion, and unpaid medical costs
Protos reported that an anonymous X user known as "Slippage" published a lengthy thread alleging that crypto figure Bastille was identified as William Edmund Bateman and accusing him of rape, financial manipulation, verbal abuse, and refusing to pay part of a hospital bill after a car crash in Norway. According to the post, the two first connected in July 2024 through a group chat and later launched tokens together, with Slippage describing the work as joint "cooks" in which Bateman handled ideas while they produced the art, design, content, videos, Twitter, dex, and bundle. Slippage alleged that Bastille often controlled the money, sometimes paid nothing, and in one case kept about 85% of the profits. The thread also alleges repeated intimidation, anger over losses on perps or slots, sexual coercion, concealment of the relationship, and ongoing harassment after the pair split. Slippage said a later trip to Norway ended in a BMW crash while Bastille was driving, leaving them with six spinal fractures, a ligament injury, a lung contusion, a disc protrusion, and a concussion. They said the medical costs totaled about €50,000, and that Bastille agreed to pay €6,000 toward a Norwegian hospital bill but never followed through.
