Megapot to shut official app on Dec. 1 and shift focus to sweepstakes business
On-chain lottery protocol Megapot said it will shut down its official website and Telegram Mini App on Dec. 1, while keeping the protocol itself running. The team said it had already stopped selling lottery tickets on Oct. 29 and ended its liquidity support program, sign-up rewards, referral rewards, and guaranteed prize campaign. Users can still claim prizes they previously won and withdraw remaining balances from their accounts. According to Megapot, the change came after it found that most of the protocol’s trading volume was being driven by other apps that used lottery tickets as rewards for actions such as deposits, trades, and referrals. The team said it will now shift its business focus to Prizerail, a sweepstakes platform that provides user growth and rewards services for consumer-facing applications.
