Milan beat Inter 3-1 in the derby at San Siro on Saturday, and Gerry Cardinale was moved to tears after the final whistle. The win lifted Rúben Amorim's side to 21 points, four behind Inter and Lazio.
How Milan won the derby
Diego Moreira set up Christian Pulisic and Adrien Rabiot inside the first 10 minutes. After Alessandro Bastoni pulled one back, Moreira sealed the win with a free kick.
Cardinale's reaction
In footage filmed at San Siro after the final whistle, the Milan owner said: "What a night! How about it? What do you think? What do you think of the boys?"
Cardinale also said: "Every three days playing a game, going through the injuries, we get our full team back and look at those guys. Those guys are winners."
He added: "It brings tears to my eyes, it's great. The best night. And we're gonna build on this!"
What came before it
On Friday, Cardinale had said he would be "devastated" by a defeat. Milan bounced back from Wednesday's home defeat to Bologna.
Table and run
Mike Maignan kept Inter out at the other end. It was Inter's first league defeat of the season, and Inter have now gone eight derbies without a win.
