Juventus CEO Giovanni Carnevali said at the club's shareholders' meeting at the Allianz Stadium in Turin on 3 November that Juventus need a more Italian identity and that rebuilding the club will take time.

Carnevali's message at the meeting

Carnevali said: "We need a more Italian identity, rediscover enthusiasm and sense of belonging."

He also said: "We don’t expect to achieve anything extraordinary overnight. We must comply with UEFA regulations. Rebuilding a great club takes time."

Plans for rebuilding the club

Carnevali was appointed in June to replace Damien Comolli.

He said: "Along with Massara and Ottolini, we are doing new things, like a scouting area we didn’t have before. It takes programming, consistency, competitiveness, and a global project. First team, NextGen, and youth sector."

He also said: "We need more Italian identity within our club, and we need to develop young players who can one day make it into the Juventus first team."

League position and upcoming match

Juventus beat Napoli 2-0 in their latest Serie A match on Sunday.

They are preparing to face AZ Alkmaar in the Europa League on Thursday.

Juventus have earned 17 points in 10 Serie A games this season and sit seventh in the table, six points below the top four.

Coaching contract

Luciano Spalletti is under contract as Juventus coach until June 2028.
