TEAMtalk reported that Eddie Howe is believed to be Jason Wilcox's preferred option as Manchester United's next manager, while Marcus Rashford could leave the club. Manchester United are 16th in the Premier League table.
Howe linked with the job
TEAMtalk reported that former Newcastle boss Howe is Jason Wilcox's preferred option to take Michael Carrick's place. TEAMtalk also reported that there is a belief Manchester United are ready to move on from Carrick.
TEAMtalk reported that Wilcox is believed to have relayed to the ownership that there is likely to be a managerial change. TEAMtalk also reported that there is a feeling United could have a new boss in place to manage their game against Chelsea if they move quickly enough.
United's recent results
Manchester United have lost three of their last four games in all competitions. They have not won since early September and are 16th in the Premier League table.
Claim on recruitment plans
One report suggested Howe had set his sights on his first four signings at the club: a centre-back, left-back, left-winger and striker. The same report said the centre-back would need to be comfortable in possession, the left-winger lightning quick, and the striker physically imposing.
Rashford exit claim
Marcus Rashford has failed to score or assist upon his return this season. Per a report, Everton are attempting to see if they would be able to prise Rashford away in January, while another report said Everton are exploring whether they would be able to secure Rashford's transfer in the winter window.
TEAMtalk says it is not clear whether Everton would want to sign Rashford on a permanent deal or on loan.
