Anthropic has told potential investors that it may seek to raise more than $100 billion in an initial public offering, according to The New York Times and two people familiar with the discussions. The San Francisco-based company could be valued at as much as $2 trillion if the deal goes ahead. That would make the five-year-old AI company the largest public listing in history, topping SpaceX’s record set in June. Anthropic was valued at $900 billion in a private funding round this year and filed for an IPO in June.

BlockBeats said on August 22, citing The New York Times, that Anthropic has been telling potential investors it may try to raise more than $100 billion through an initial public offering. According to two people familiar with the talks, the San Francisco-based company could also carry a $2 trillion valuation in the offering.

If that happens, it would break the record for the biggest public listing ever. It would move past the mark set by SpaceX in June, when Elon Musk’s company went public at a $1.77 trillion valuation and raised $85.7 billion.

Anthropic, founded five years ago, would be making a huge leap from its latest fundraising levels. This year, the company was valued at $900 billion in a private financing round, and it filed for an IPO in June.
