Arkham today launched a new scoring system for Polymarket traders that evaluates prediction accuracy, not just profit. The Elo/MMR-based design removes capital size from the equation — on day one, it became clear that the top-ranked trader in accuracy is a different person from the top earner.
Elo Mechanics: Reward for Contrarian Calls
Borrowing from chess rating systems, Arkham's Elo algorithm gives each correct prediction a score increase relative to other traders. The twist: correctly picking a low-odds (contrarian) outcome grants far more points than picking a high-odds (favorite) one. The system rewards those who see the direction early when most don't. Arkham stated explicitly: 'Scores ignore bet size, so traders who bet smaller but more accurately will rank higher than those who bet large with lower win rates.' This highlights the blind spot of traditional PnL leaderboards — big money can dominate profit rankings despite mediocre accuracy.
De-anonymization Engine: Cross-Market Wallet Tracking
Arkham first launched its prediction market analytics suite in early May, featuring PnL rankings, real-time trade feeds (filtered by politics/sports/crypto), individual trader profiles (open/closed positions, lifetime PnL, ROI, win rate, performance charts), and trade alerts. The Elo system extends these capabilities. The engine behind it all is Arkham's de-anonymization identity engine, originally built for whale tracking: since 2022 it has accumulated 3.5 billion address labels and 800,000 verified entities. This gives Arkham a unique edge over Polymarket Analytics or Dune dashboards — the ability to cross-reference the same wallet across markets. For example, if a wallet moves a large sum on Bitcoin, Arkham can simultaneously check whether the same wallet holds a big position on Polymarket, helping distinguish information-driven bets from routine capital moves.
Trader Theo4: $22M Lifetime PnL, 88.9% Win Rate
Trader Theo4 exemplifies the engine's capability: lifetime PnL of $22 million, win rate of 88.9%, with the single largest profit of $14.4 million coming from correctly betting on Trump winning the 2024 popular vote. On launch day, the top spot on the Elo leaderboard went not to Theo4 but to a smaller bettor with even higher accuracy, confirming the system's design intent.
