Crypto prices rebounded after several days of declines, with Ether posting a much stronger move than Bitcoin. Binance data cited in the report showed Bitcoin back above $82,000 on Oct. 16, up about 1% over 24 hours, while Ether rose to around $2,451.50 with a 24-hour gain of 3.83% — roughly 3.7 times Bitcoin’s advance. From intraday lows, BTC rebounded about 2.9% after touching $79,735, while ETH climbed about 5.5% from $2,322.93. The price action, however, was not matched by fund flows into U.S. spot Ether ETFs. Data from Farside Investors showed net outflows of about $129.5 million on Oct. 14 and another $60.3 million on Oct. 15, bringing the two-day total to roughly $189.8 million. On Oct. 15, BlackRock’s ETHA posted about $44.4 million in net outflows and Grayscale’s ETHE lost about $18.3 million, while Fidelity’s FETH was the only fund in the report to register net inflows, at about $2.4 million. The rebound came after U.S. September producer price index data rose 6.3%, according to the report. Traders are now watching whether ETH can clear the $2,460 area and whether BTC can hold above $80,000, while ETF flow trends remain a key signal for whether the move can continue.

Ether led a rebound in crypto markets after several sessions of declines, rising far more sharply than Bitcoin even as U.S. spot ETH ETF flows remained negative.

According to Binance market data cited in the report and checked on Oct. 16, Bitcoin traded back above $82,000 at around $82,043, up about 1% over the past 24 hours. Ether recovered to roughly $2,451.50, posting a 24-hour gain of 3.83%, or about 3.7 times Bitcoin’s move.

BTC bounced after slipping below $80,000, while ETH recovered more than 5% from its low

Binance data showed Bitcoin fell as low as $79,735 in the past 24 hours before rebounding to about $82,043, a recovery of roughly 2.9% from the session low.

Ether showed a stronger bounce. ETH dropped to $2,322.93 over the same period and then climbed to around $2,451.50, recovering about 5.5% from its low. Based on the latest trading range in the report, ETH was nearing its 24-hour high of $2,464, while BTC was still consolidating near $82,000.

The move pointed to stronger short-term price elasticity in ETH during this round of market repair, though the report also noted that the token may face larger swings on both declines and rebounds.

U.S. spot ETH ETFs posted net outflows for two straight trading days

The rebound in ETH was not matched by a return of funds into U.S. spot Ether ETFs. Data from Farside Investors showed that U.S. spot ETH ETFs recorded about $129.5 million in net outflows on Oct. 14, followed by another $60.3 million on Oct. 15, for a two-day total of roughly $189.8 million in net outflows.

Within that total, BlackRock’s ETHA saw about $44.4 million in net outflows on Oct. 15, while Grayscale’s ETHE posted about $18.3 million in outflows. Fidelity’s FETH was the only product listed in the report to record net inflows, at around $2.4 million.

On that basis, the report said ETH’s short-term rebound does not yet prove that institutional investors have started buying the dip at scale. Price gains and fund flows have yet to move in sync.

Rebound followed a 6.3% rise in U.S. September PPI

The recovery took shape after U.S. September producer price index data rose 6.3%, the report said. Market action shifted from a sharp sell-off to a repair phase, but the rebound does not mean inflation risk has disappeared.

Federal Reserve rate policy, U.S. Treasury yields and ETF fund flows remain key factors for the crypto market from here.

Traders are watching the $2,460 area for ETH

In the near term, the market is watching whether ETH can break above its recent high and push toward $2,500, while also tracking whether BTC can hold the $80,000 level.

If ETH continues to outperform BTC and U.S. spot ETF flows turn from net outflows to sustained net inflows, that would better support the case for a recovery in market demand. If ETF withdrawals continue, the current rise may still amount to a short-term rebound.
