Cardano developer Input Output plans to transfer control of several key software components to outside specialist teams starting in August, according to an Odaily report. The handover will cover the Haskell node, the Plutus platform and the Daedalus wallet, and is being framed as part of a decentralization effort that has been underway for years. The report said independent firms including nSe7en Labs and Teragone will take over parts of Cardano’s core infrastructure. At least three Cardano implementation versions will continue to be maintained in Haskell, Rust and Go, with community oversight and formal specification management. Cardano is currently dealing with weak network activity and a sharp drop in the price of ADA. Founder Charles Hoskinson described the restructuring, along with broader setbacks in the ecosystem, as necessary “growing pains” on the path toward full decentralization.

Cardano developer Input Output will begin transferring control of key blockchain software components to outside specialist teams in August, according to Odaily. The move covers the Haskell node, the Plutus platform and the Daedalus wallet, and is part of a decentralization plan that has been in motion for years.

Independent companies including nSe7en Labs and Teragone will be responsible for parts of the network’s core infrastructure. The report said Cardano will maintain at least three implementation versions in Haskell, Rust and Go. Those versions will be subject to community oversight and formal specification management.

Cardano is also facing weak network activity and a sharp decline in the price of ADA. Founder Charles Hoskinson described the restructuring and related setbacks across the ecosystem as necessary “growing pains” in the push toward full decentralization.
