When Anthropic rolled out access to its most advanced AI security model, Mythos, the crypto industry was left off the guest list. According to The Information, Coinbase, Binance, Uniswap, and Fireblocks have approached Anthropic, seeking access to Claude Mythos for enhancing their cybersecurity capabilities.
Project Glasswing: A Security Club for Tech and Finance Giants
In April 2026, Anthropic launched Project Glasswing, offering Claude Mythos Preview to select enterprises to bolster critical infrastructure defenses. The first cohort includes Amazon Web Services, Apple, Broadcom, Cisco, CrowdStrike, Google, JPMorgan Chase, Microsoft, Nvidia, and Palo Alto Networks. This list reads like a who's who of tech and finance, but no crypto-native company made the cut.
Coinbase CSO Speaks Out, Uniswap CEO Goes Public
Industry players are not sitting idle. Coinbase Chief Security Officer Philip Martin told media: "Mythos will accelerate both digital threats and defenses." He stressed that Coinbase is actively communicating with Anthropic to push for access.
Uniswap Labs CEO Hayden Adams took a more direct approach, posting on X to ask if anyone could provide a contact at Anthropic. In a sector built on permissionless protocols, this public plea highlights the scarcity of the technology.
Fireblocks, a crypto asset security infrastructure provider, is also evaluating Mythos' potential impact on the overall crypto security landscape. Some executives privately expect that crypto firms may gain some form of access before Mythos is broadly released.
Anthropic's Caution and the Crypto Industry's Wait
Anthropic remains measured in its response, citing high misuse risks as the reason for not yet releasing Mythos publicly. The company's long-term goal is to allow safe, large-scale deployment of Mythos-level models for security use cases.
For the crypto industry, the wait is about more than business opportunities. Smart contract vulnerabilities, private key management risks, cross-chain bridge attack surfaces—these persistent security headaches could be the exact battleground where a model like Mythos excels.
