A CoinShares survey released on Oct. 5 found that wealthy investors across seven major markets, including the United States, the United Kingdom and France, place the most trust in wealth managers as a source of crypto information. Even so, sentiment toward advisers is mixed. In four of those markets, about 40% of respondents who already work with an adviser said that adviser is too cautious on digital assets.
The survey covered 2,230 investors, each with at least $500,000 in investable assets excluding real estate. CoinShares said 61% of advisers work at firms that either restrict digital assets or do not provide clear internal guidance. That policy gap appears to shape recommendations: at firms seen as supportive, 48% of advisers proactively recommend crypto assets, compared with just 1% at restrictive firms.
On the investor side, ownership and planned allocation increases were both high. Between 54% and 70% of respondents said they already hold digital assets, while 71% to 91% said they plan to increase exposure this year. At the same time, 88% said they do not have enough knowledge to invest with full confidence, and 69% said they would consider working with a wealth manager who has crypto expertise.
