The crypto market faced heavy selling pressure during the latest session. Bitcoin (BTC) slipped beneath the critical $80,000 level, trading around $79,693 with a 2.3% daily loss. Ethereum (ETH) fell 2.7% to $2,280, XRP dropped 2.7%, Solana (SOL) declined 2.1%, and BNB shed 2.5%. Dogecoin (DOGE) suffered the steepest drop among top assets, declining 4.8% within 24 hours.
Small-Cap Tokens Explode Higher
While large caps bled, a group of lower-cap cryptocurrencies delivered explosive gains. Islamic Coin (ISLM) shot up 53.6%, the session’s top performer. Nillion (NIL) surged 38.3% with over $264 million in trading volume. Jito (JTO) rallied 32.9%, Block Street (BSB) gained 29.5%, and Constellation (DAG) added 25.2%. Xphere (XP) and Starknet (STRK) both posted gains above 24%. USD.AI (CHIP), BurnedFi (BURN), Clearpool (CPOOL), and Zerebro (ZEREBRO) also maintained double-digit rallies.
Capital Rotation in Full Swing
Several of the strongest-performing altcoins registered elevated trading volumes even as Bitcoin and Ethereum struggled to stabilize. The divergence between large-cap declines and small-cap surges points to a clear rotation: traders are fleeing falling blue chips and piling into speculative small-cap names for short-term opportunities.
The broader market remains under pressure, but the small-cap rally proves that localized opportunities exist even in a bloodbath. Whether this is a temporary anomaly or the start of a style shift will depend on upcoming liquidity flows.
