Changpeng Zhao, widely known as CZ, said at the 2026 Wyoming Blockchain Symposium that Donald Trump mentioned Hyperliquid and said Commodity Futures Trading Commission Chairman Mike Selig would look for a path to bring the platform into the U.S. market. CZ said that if such a move is carried through, it would be a major positive for the crypto industry as a whole rather than a win for just one platform. He said some users choose Hyperliquid because it can be accessed through a wallet without a traditional account or KYC process. In his view, if Hyperliquid can operate in the United States in a compliant way, that could open the door for perpetual contracts and other decentralized services to enter the market as well. CZ added that this could help more decentralized products and portfolio companies, while also bringing more liquidity to international centralized exchanges and giving U.S. users more competitive prices when trading crypto assets. CZ also said the crypto market is still far from saturated, so competition between platforms is not the main issue at this stage.

According to ChainCatcher, CZ said at the 2026 Wyoming Blockchain Symposium that Donald Trump mentioned Hyperliquid and said Commodity Futures Trading Commission Chairman Mike Selig would look for a path to bring the platform into the U.S. market.

CZ said that if the move is carried through, it would be a major positive for the broader crypto industry. He added that because he holds shares in Binance, people often see him as a backer of centralized trading platforms, but said the reason he entered crypto in the first place was his belief in decentralization.

Why a U.S. launch matters

CZ said some users choose Hyperliquid because they can use the platform through a wallet without a traditional account or a KYC process. If Hyperliquid is able to operate in the United States in a compliant way, he said, that would create room for perpetual contracts and more decentralized services to enter the country.

He said the issue goes beyond Hyperliquid itself. As CZ put it, 「Hyperliquid is just the tip. Once that tip gets in, other projects can follow.」

CZ's view on competition and liquidity

CZ said such progress would benefit more decentralized products and their portfolio companies. He also said it would bring more liquidity to international centralized exchanges, allowing U.S. users to get more competitive prices when buying and selling crypto assets.

He added that the crypto market is still far from saturated, so competition between platforms is not the main concern at this stage. In his view, Hyperliquid's entry into the United States would not benefit only the platform itself, but would expand the size of the overall market. In his words, 「What is good for them will also be good for us.」
