Changpeng Zhao, widely known as CZ, said at the 2026 Wyoming Blockchain Symposium that any successful move to bring Hyperliquid into the U.S. market would reach far beyond a single platform. Referring to remarks he said were made by Donald Trump, CZ said Trump mentioned Hyperliquid and said Commodity Futures Trading Commission Chairman Mike Selig would look for a way to let the platform enter the U.S. market. In CZ’s view, if that effort is carried through, it would be a major positive for the broader crypto industry. CZ said people often see him as a backer of centralized exchanges because he holds shares in Binance, but he added that his original reason for entering crypto was his belief in decentralization. He argued that some users choose Hyperliquid because it can be accessed through a wallet without a traditional account or KYC process. If the platform can operate in the U.S. in a compliant way, he said, that could open the door for perpetual futures and other decentralized services. He added that the impact would not stop with Hyperliquid, but could also benefit other decentralized products, portfolio companies, international centralized exchanges through deeper liquidity, and U.S. users through more competitive trading prices.

BlockBeats reported on Aug. 26 that Changpeng Zhao, or CZ, said at the 2026 Wyoming Blockchain Symposium that Donald Trump had mentioned Hyperliquid and said Commodity Futures Trading Commission Chairman Mike Selig would look for a path to bring the platform into the U.S. market.

CZ said that if such a development is carried through, it would be a major positive for the entire crypto industry.

He said a U.S. entry for Hyperliquid would have effects beyond the platform itself

CZ said people often see him as a supporter of centralized trading platforms because he holds shares in Binance. He added that the core reason he entered crypto in the first place was his belief in decentralization.

He said some users choose Hyperliquid because the platform can be used through a wallet without a traditional account and KYC procedures. If Hyperliquid is able to operate in the United States in a compliant manner, he said, that would open room for perpetual futures and more decentralized services to enter the U.S. market.

CZ said the issue is not only about Hyperliquid itself. 「Hyperliquid is just the tip. Once that tip gets in, other projects can follow.」

CZ said liquidity and pricing for U.S. users could also improve

In his view, that kind of progress would benefit more decentralized products and their portfolio companies. He also said it would bring more liquidity to international centralized exchanges and give U.S. users more competitive prices when buying and selling crypto assets.

CZ added that the crypto market is still far from saturated at this stage, so competition between platforms is not the main issue. Hyperliquid entering the U.S., he said, would not only benefit the platform itself but expand the total size of the market for the industry. 「What is good for them will also be good for us.」
