Gareth Soloway says Bitcoin may still climb to $80,000-$85,000 if support holds, but he views the move as a bear market rally. He also outlined near-term setups for Ethereum, Solana, and XRP, with Solana described as the strongest chart of the four.

Technical analyst Gareth Soloway says Bitcoin, Ethereum, XRP and Solana still have room to move higher in the near term, but he is not calling the current advance the start of a fresh bull market. His view is split: short-term upside remains intact, while the larger chart pattern still points to downside risk later on.

Bitcoin target stays at $80,000 to $85,000

Soloway said he has held an upside target of $80,000 to $85,000 on Bitcoin for more than a month and has not changed that call. Bitcoin climbed to $76,000 before pulling back, yet the chart continues to show higher highs and higher lows, a structure he considers technically bullish. The key level on his chart is $68,000. As long as Bitcoin stays above that support, he believes the path toward $80,000 remains open, with the move possibly stretching into April.

He also made clear that he sees this as an intra-bear-market rally rather than the beginning of a new long-term uptrend. In his view, the larger macro pattern is still building toward a downside break once it takes control of the chart.

Ethereum stalls below $2,400 but structure remains intact

Ethereum was rejected just under $2,400. Soloway said the broader setup in ETH looks similar to Bitcoin: bearish on the macro time frame, but still constructive in the short run because the higher-high and higher-low pattern has not been broken. He is watching a key support zone closely. A break below that area would weaken the setup fast; if support holds, Ethereum could still push toward upper trend-line resistance.

Solana stands out as the strongest setup

Among the four assets, Soloway was most positive on Solana. He said he is holding a position with an average entry near $82. With Solana trading around $92 at the time of his analysis, that position was sitting in profit.

His trading plan is specific. He intends to sell half near $100, then reduce more exposure if price reaches $105. His best-case near-term scenario is a return to the $118 resistance zone. He described Solana’s chart as cleaner than the others, with a more defined upside path.

XRP gets a $1.70 upside call

Soloway called XRP’s chart setup “very good” and said it has a legitimate chance to reach $1.70. His reasoning is based on the recent sequence: XRP broke out, pulled back, held support, and is now setting up for another move higher.

Across all four assets, his message is consistent. Short-term momentum is still alive, but he is not dropping his warning that the bigger market structure may eventually turn the trend lower.
