Hong Kong has unveiled a new set of fintech measures tied to its policy agenda, including the launch of a cross-border data verification platform between Chongqing and Hong Kong and an upcoming AI assistant for the iAM Smart service. According to Techub News, the Chongqing-Hong Kong platform is now in operation and uses blockchain and data codes to verify customer-carried data. The setup does not involve cross-border transmission or storage of original files. The Hong Kong Monetary Authority said the first phase will focus on cross-border finance and help banks in both places handle services such as account opening and loans. The mechanism is listed as one of the measures in the Chief Executive’s 2026 Policy Address aimed at promoting the orderly flow of financial factors between the two places. Separately, the Digital Policy Office said iAM Smart will launch an AI assistant, with version 5.0 to be rolled out in stages. The government also said it is referencing the Model Law on Electronic Transferable Records and plans to submit draft amendments to the Electronic Transactions Ordinance within the year to advance the digitization of B2B trade documents.
