Hong Kong’s two main stock indexes opened lower on September 2 and kept sliding through the morning, according to Bitget market data. By the noon close, the Hang Seng Index was down 0.96%. The Hang Seng Tech Index lost 1.54%. Optical communication shares also took a hit. Huahong Hongli (01347.HK) dropped more than 4%, while Zhongji Xuchuang (03308.HK) fell over 3%.
