Humanity has announced its recovery plan following the attack incident. According to the announcement, the previous H token deployments on Ethereum, BNB Chain and Humanity Mainnet have been permanently disabled. The project will issue a new ERC-20 version of the H token and distribute it to eligible token holders through a 1:1 airdrop.
Old H Token Disabled Across Existing Deployments
The new token will continue to use “H” as its ticker and will be deployed on the Ethereum network. Humanity said the new contract has completed a full security audit and will serve as the only valid H token for the future ecosystem. Under this recovery arrangement, the former H token versions deployed on Ethereum, BNB Chain and Humanity Mainnet will no longer be treated as valid assets for the ecosystem going forward.
The main replacement mechanism described in the announcement is the issuance of the new ERC-20 H token and a 1:1 airdrop to holders who meet the eligibility requirements. The announcement focuses on the permanent shutdown of the old token, the launch of the new audited contract, and the role of the new H token as the sole valid token in Humanity’s future ecosystem.
Claims Require KYC and AML Review
Humanity also stated that, because the attack has been attributed to a North Korea-linked hacking group, all compensation claims must go through identity verification KYC and anti-money laundering AML checks. The official claims portal is already live, and users can submit applications through the official entry point. Completion of these reviews is part of the compensation process before eligible users receive the new H token airdrop.
The project said it is working with major centralized exchanges, cross-chain bridges, liquidity providers and ecosystem partners to move forward with the migration. Humanity also plans to restart Humanity Mainnet in the coming weeks. After the restart, the new H token will be used as the network’s native gas token.
