A Protos report says Justin Sun has triggered a new round of controversy in China after posting on X that he paid actress Jing Tian 30 million yuan as part of an arrangement to obtain her eggs, only to later claim that she asked for more money. Sun said he then consulted Anthropic’s Claude, which advised him to call off the deal, and that he is now suing her. According to the report, the issue drawing the most attention in China is not only the allegation itself, but Sun’s own description of how heavily he relies on AI. In an interview with Phoenix Network, Sun said he uses Claude every day for business decisions worth tens of millions of dollars and lets it conduct “regular audits” of his companies. Protos noted that it remains unclear whether those decisions are carried out without added human review or whether the audit output is checked by professional auditors. Jing Tian has denied Sun’s account twice, once through her studio and once on her personal account, and said the matter should be resolved in court.

Justin Sun has stirred controversy in China after posting on X that he sought out actress Jing Tian after what he described as a decades-long crush, paid her 30 million yuan to obtain her eggs, and then saw the arrangement break down when she allegedly asked for more money, according to Protos.

Sun said he consulted Claude at that point, and that the AI model told him to call off the deal. He now says he is suing Jing.

AI use became the focal point in China

Protos said that while many English-speaking readers focused on the unsettling nature of Sun’s account and his apparent relationship with Jing Tian, public discussion in China has centered on something else: how much Sun appears to rely on AI for both personal and business decisions.

In an interview with Phoenix Network, Sun defended that practice and said he uses Claude “for business decisions worth tens of millions of dollars every day” and allows it to perform “regular audits” of his companies.

Protos added that it is unclear whether Sun implements those decisions without further human input, or whether the audits he described are treated as factual without being checked by a professional auditor.

Sun appeared to retreat from parts of his earlier account

The report also said Sun has been walking back claims made in his original story while continuing to defend his use of AI. Near the end of the Phoenix Network interview, Sun appeared unsure whether publishing the story had been a mistake, and seemed to blame Claude for advising him to cut ties with Jing.

Phoenix Network also asked whether his personal life might not have become entangled with his business affairs if he had used a Chinese AI model instead. According to Protos, Sun did not have an answer.

Jing Tian denied the claims twice

Jing has taken a different line. Protos said she denied Sun’s claims twice, once through her studio and once on her personal account. Both statements were brief and said the dispute should be handled in court.

In her second denial, Jing said she “believes in law, kindness, justice, and fairness.”

Protos framed the episode as another case of Sun keeping his name in the headlines, while Jing has responded with short denials and a legal posture.
