Kraken Institutional said on July 16 that it has partnered with onchain yield platform Upshift to let eligible institutional clients earn yield on idle Bitcoin, Ether, stablecoins and other crypto assets within Kraken’s compliant custody framework. The structure differs from traditional pooled vaults. Instead of combining client assets in a shared vehicle, Upshift will build a dedicated vault for each client. Each vault is tailored to that client’s investment strategy, risk parameters, liquidity needs and asset mix. According to the announcement, assets will be allocated to these non-custodial vaults and then deployed into selected onchain contracts. A receipt token will be delivered to the client’s segregated Kraken custody account.
