French President Emmanuel Macron is scheduled to deliver a special address at Paris Blockchain Week 2026 on April 15–16 at the Carrousel du Louvre, a move organizers describe as the first time a sitting G7 head of state will speak at an institutional conference focused on digital assets.
According to the press release, Macron will address 10,000 attendees and focus on several priorities tied to European digital sovereignty: the development of euro-denominated stablecoins, the rollout of a digital euro, and regulatory frameworks meant to place Europe at the center of the global digital economy. The event is also expected to host senior French government officials involved in digital asset regulation, stablecoin policy and institutional financial infrastructure.
Euro stablecoins and the digital euro are central topics
The announcement cites an earlier Financial Times op-ed by Macron, where he said Europe should strengthen the international role of the euro through the development of euro stablecoins, the introduction of a digital euro, and the creation of safe and liquid assets to finance defense and technology. That framing closely matches the agenda outlined for his appearance in Paris.
The release also links the speech to Macron’s broader messaging in global forums, including Davos, where he has repeatedly called on European governments and institutions to move faster on digital financial infrastructure. The text presents the Paris appearance as part of that continuing line. It remains a press release, and the article centers on the event positioning rather than any newly published policy document.
France uses MiCA and domestic licensing rules to pitch leadership
Organizers say France has become one of the most advanced G7 jurisdictions for digital assets, pointing to the PACTE law and the PSAN licensing regime. In their view, those rules helped turn Paris and the surrounding region into a hub for major institutions. The release adds that the Elysée’s engagement with the event, now in its seventh edition, fits a deliberate effort to present France as a benchmark regulatory model within the European Union under MiCA.
This year’s conference is expected to welcome participants from more than 100 countries. The release names BNP Paribas, Crédit Agricole, Banque de France, HSBC, JPMorgan Chase, Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley among the institutions represented. The week is set to open with a VIP Dinner at the Château de Versailles, a private gathering of 500 leaders from finance, technology and institutions.
Paris Blockchain Week is described by organizers as Europe’s leading institutional conference dedicated to blockchain technology and digital assets, bringing together heads of state, regulators, institutional investors and industry leaders in the French capital each year.
