Since early July, the broader cryptocurrency market has faced significant volatility, but the meme coin sector has shown remarkable resilience and growth. Over the past 51 days, the total market cap of meme coins has surged by $14.15 billion, representing a gain of 23.96%, pushing the sector's overall valuation to $73.02 billion.

Top Meme Coins Dominate with Dogecoin Leading

By market capitalization, five tokens command the majority of the sector. Dogecoin (DOGE) leads with a market cap of $33.26 billion, followed by Shiba Inu (SHIB) at $7.35 billion. Pepe (PEPE) takes third place at $4.2 billion, while Pudgy Penguins (PENGU) and Official Trump (TRUMP) stand at $1.87 billion and $1.69 billion respectively. Together, these five assets account for $48.4 billion, or 66.31% of the entire meme coin market cap.

Daily Trading Volume Remains Robust

This week saw mixed price action among meme tokens, with DOGE edging up 1.4% and SHIB rising 0.8%. Lesser-known tokens posted double-digit gains, with WOLF, USDUC, AGENTFUN, and LAUNCHCOIN climbing between 67.1% and 123%. CORGIAI also rose 49% over the week. In daily trading volume, DOGE dominated with over $2.12 billion, far ahead of its peers. PEPE recorded $487.2 million, followed by TRUMP at $296.2 million and PENGU at $275.8 million. WIF and PUMP each traded above $214 million, while BONK and SHIB posted $207.7 million and $199.4 million respectively. Further down, FARTCOIN and PNUT saw volumes of $179 million and $92.7 million. Despite the strong momentum, the meme coin sector still represents only 1.887% of the total cryptocurrency market, which stands at $3.87 trillion, leaving ample room for future expansion.
