Cryptocurrency exchange MEXC announced on July 22 the rollout of its ninth batch of tokenized equities in partnership with Ondo Finance, adding 17 new spot trading pairs based on Ethereum's ERC-20 standard. The pairs represent shares of publicly traded U.S. companies across technology, healthcare, and financial services sectors, and are denominated in USDT.

Ninth Batch: 17 Tokenized Stock Pairs Go Live

The new listings mark the ninth phase of the collaboration between MEXC and Ondo Finance, which began with the exchange's tokenized equity initiative in September 2025. Combined with previous batches, the platform now offers digital representations of dozens of large publicly traded firms.

MEXC reports its trading ecosystem serves over 40 million users across more than 170 countries. The assets are issued as ERC-20 tokens on Ethereum, designed to be transferable across blockchain networks and compatible with decentralized finance (DeFi) protocols.

Zero-Fee Trading for 30 Days

To attract activity and liquidity, MEXC is offering zero trading fees on the new tokenized stock pairs for the first 30 days. Zero-fee campaigns have become a standard tactic among exchanges launching new assets. Vugar Usi, Chief Operating Officer at MEXC, said: "Tokenized stocks are no longer an experiment at the edges of crypto. They are becoming a natural extension of how users diversify their portfolios, hedge risk, and build real wealth in a digital world." Usi added that each rollout with Ondo Finance brings familiar assets into a faster, more open financial system.

Ondo Finance's Infrastructure

The tokenized equities are built using Ondo Finance's Ondo Global Markets platform, which creates blockchain-based representations of publicly traded assets. These tokens are structured to be transferable across chains and interact with lending protocols and decentralized exchanges. MEXC said its internal market-making infrastructure will provide liquidity and price discovery, aiming for tight spreads and continuous market availability.

Bridging Traditional Markets and Crypto

The rise of tokenized equities reflects a broader trend of merging traditional assets with blockchain infrastructure. Proponents argue tokenization can streamline settlement and enable continuous global trading. Critics note that tokenized representations may not carry the same legal rights or regulatory protections as traditional securities. Regulators in several jurisdictions are still assessing how to oversee tokenized securities. Despite uncertainties, crypto platforms continue to experiment with bringing traditional instruments on-chain. Exchanges are increasingly competing by offering products like tokenized stocks. By deepening its partnership with Ondo Finance, MEXC positions itself at the intersection of crypto infrastructure and traditional equity exposure. The long-term viability of such offerings will depend on regulatory responses and market adoption. As the sector evolves, tokenized assets could become a key bridge between traditional finance and digital asset ecosystems.
