MEXC said its TradFi Futures data for May 2026 showed a sharp rise in demand for U.S. stock-linked products, with stock futures trading volume climbing 105% month over month. MU (Micron) futures posted one of the biggest moves on the platform, with volume rising 1,002%. The index segment also expanded quickly, recording overall growth of 134%. The exchange said user participation broadened across AI, semiconductor, index, and ETF products.
Memory and storage names gained traction on AI demand
The exchange linked part of the increase to stronger market attention on memory and storage shares as AI-driven demand for HBM, or high-bandwidth memory, accelerated. On MEXC, SNDK (SanDisk) futures volume rose 757% in May, alongside the jump in MU contracts. Other core AI computing names stayed active as well: AMD futures volume increased 465%, while NVDA futures were up 151%. MEXC also highlighted AI-themed ETFs including SOXL and DRAM, giving users access to both single-stock trades and broader sector exposure.
Index and ETF products captured a larger share of activity
Trading demand was not limited to individual equities. According to MEXC, SPX500 and NAS100 were the most actively traded U.S. stock-related futures products on the platform during the month. QQQ, an ETF tied to the technology sector, recorded a 253% month-over-month increase in trading volume. In the index category, the three main U.S. products—SPX500, NAS100, and US30—accounted for 87% of total segment volume, pointing to heavier use of index and ETF instruments to trade broader U.S. market moves.
Product lineup expanded beyond U.S. names
MEXC said it continued to widen its stock product matrix by adding major Asian memory and semiconductor companies, including KIOXIA, SK Hynix, and Samsung Electronics. The exchange said its Stock Futures offering now covers more than 140 global equity-related assets. Across the wider TradFi Futures suite, coverage has reached more than 160 traditional financial assets spanning U.S. stocks, global stock indexes, ETFs, precious metals, commodities, and foreign exchange.
SpaceX futures drew attention ahead of a possible IPO
SpaceX (SPCX) futures remained another focal point. MEXC said it had already listed SPCX futures ahead of SpaceX’s anticipated IPO, and the contract attracted notable trading activity. The exchange presented this as an example of how crypto-native infrastructure can be used to access traditional asset events earlier. MEXC also said USDT settlement helps reduce foreign exchange and fund-switching costs, while its 0-fee trading model lowers rebalancing friction. Long and short futures positions, it added, give users more flexibility across crypto, stocks, equity indexes, and commodities through a single account.
