On July 9, 2026, Mining Grid, the company behind the Mining Race platform, marked the first anniversary of Mining COREs by announcing COREs Evolution, a significant upgrade to its original COREs racing model. First launched globally in April 2025, Mining COREs have now completed one year of activity within the Mining Race ecosystem, with more than 450,000 COREs having participated to date.
COREs Evolution: Easier to Join, More Dynamic
Built in response to community feedback, COREs Evolution adds another dimension to the structure of the Mining Race experience. This model aims to be easier to join, simpler to follow, and more dynamic over time. Each Mining CORE represents 1 TH/s of mining power within the platform. Users can activate these COREs via the Mining Race app and participate in a system built around recurring races and platform-based rewards, without managing hardware or handling technical setups.
Two Race Formats: Sprint Races and Block Races
The new system features two race formats: Sprint Races for newly enrolled COREs during a week, with one winning Core unlocking the relevant Bitcoin block hash each week; and Block Races, which run on a much more frequent timeline, tied to newly mined Bitcoin blocks and available to all active COREs. In addition to race participation, each Core carries mining power that allows it to generate mining rewards during its active period.
User Experience Enhancements
Several changes have been introduced to improve how users interact with the product. Mining Grid has added auto-buy functionality, bundle purchase options, and integrated bonus mechanics to make participation more flexible. Parts of the reward and race structure have also been revised to create a smoother and more consistent experience. With over 125,000 downloads across 150+ countries, the Mining Race app is available on the App Store and Google Play.
