MoonPay has launched MoonPay Deposits inside the self-custodial TON Wallet in Wallet in Telegram, adding a new way for users to fund wallets and apps with crypto they already hold. The feature is built for wallet-to-wallet transfers and removes the need for users to manually swap tokens or use separate bridging services before sending funds.

Instead of asking users to prepare the right asset on the right chain in advance, the system lets them choose what they want to send and handles the technical steps in the background. MoonPay said the tool works regardless of the token or blockchain the user starts from.

Swaps, bridging, and routing are handled in one flow

The main pitch behind MoonPay Deposits is automation. Users select the asset they want to transfer, and MoonPay manages swapping, bridging, and cross-chain routing on its own infrastructure. That structure is meant to reduce a common source of transfer failure: sending funds over the wrong network or using an unsupported asset.

MoonPay said its system manages deposit detection, asset conversion, compatibility checks, and final delivery as part of a single process. The company also said the product can be integrated directly into partner environments, with Wallet in Telegram now serving as one of those embedded use cases.

TON Wallet can now be funded without holding TON first

Before this launch, users generally needed TON-based assets before they could access the wallet and use services tied to it. MoonPay Deposits removes that requirement. According to the company, users can now send BTC, ETH, SOL, stablecoins, or other assets from external networks and have them converted automatically into tokens supported by the platform.

MoonPay also said stablecoins are converted at a 1:1 rate. After conversion, TON or other supported tokens are delivered directly into Wallet in Telegram. The company framed the feature as a way to cut onboarding friction across Telegram’s decentralized app ecosystem. With the rollout, more than 100 million users can fund TON Wallet using assets from other blockchains, based on MoonPay’s figures.

Executives focus on onboarding and account funding

MoonPay co-founder and CEO Ivan Soto-Wright said users should not have to work through complex steps just to fund an account, adding that the service allows them to use their existing crypto while MoonPay handles the technical execution. Andrew Rogozov, founder and CEO of The Open Platform and Wallet in Telegram, said the update removes a major onboarding barrier and lets users move into or out of the TON ecosystem without exchanges or forced conversions.

Deposit starts inside the wallet

The process begins in TON Wallet. Users tap “Deposit,” choose between stablecoins and other crypto options, then select the token and network they want to send from. The wallet generates a deposit address, which can be copied or accessed through a QR code.

From there, users paste the address into their wallet or an exchange withdrawal page, enter the amount, and confirm the transfer. MoonPay then executes the swap and routing steps before the selected asset is credited to the chosen destination.
