Pi Network has completed its first KYC validator reward distribution on April 3, 2026. Eligible validators needed a Mainnet wallet to receive payment. The payout process started on Pi Day 2026, and the reward pool totaled approximately 26.5 million Pi — 16,568,774 Pi from migrated users plus 10 million Pi added by the foundation.
1.09 Million Validators, 526 Million Validations
A March 5 snapshot determined eligibility: validators needed at least 50 majority-agreed tasks by that date. In total, 1,094,680 human validators completed 526,970,631 successful validations. Those reviews helped verify 18 million identities worldwide. Each successful validation earned 0.0504179 Pi — roughly 21 times the current base mining rate. The network said future reward rounds are planned.
Launchpad Testnet Moves Past Demo Phase
Pi Network launched its Launchpad on Testnet on March 19, initially described as a learning tool. But community screenshots now show the test is running real token transfers. A user committed 100 tests through the “12-Grid” process and received 93.04 IRRA test tokens in their wallet. Materials also said stake tokens become redeemable after 30 days. This suggests the test completed a full cycle of subscription, allocation, and delivery. The official blog still stresses the Launchpad is live only on Testnet for feedback and may change.
Mixed Reactions: Rewards Paid, KYC Bottleneck Remains
Rewarded validators see the payout as proof that a large human review network can coordinate. The Pi Core Team framed it as evidence of a global workforce for judgment-based tasks. Yet frustration is visible online: some users still stuck in KYC, and migration progress remains uneven — some completed a second migration while others wait. Pi Network remains in its Enclosed Mainnet phase; the Open Network launch depends on ecosystem maturity and KYC completion. The reward distribution is a milestone, but KYC congestion is still the biggest hurdle toward open mainnet.
