US intelligence can currently confirm that about one-third of Iran’s missile stockpile has been destroyed, according to a Reuters exclusive citing multiple anonymous sources familiar with the assessment. The estimate comes as US and Israeli military operations against Iran approach the one-month mark.
Another third remains in an unclear condition
Beyond the portion confirmed destroyed, Reuters said roughly another one-third of the missiles remains in a less clear status. Four of the sources said sustained US bombing likely damaged or destroyed some of that inventory, or buried it deep inside Iran’s underground tunnels and hardened shelters, leaving it unusable for now. Even so, the current assessment stops short of a definitive accounting.
All five sources cited in the report requested anonymity because of the sensitivity of the intelligence. Reuters published the exclusive on March 27, at a point when markets and policymakers were closely tracking the real military outcome of the conflict.
Geopolitical uncertainty remains in focus
The reported intelligence suggests Iran may still retain some capacity to respond militarily. If the conflict is not contained through diplomacy, prolonged uncertainty in the Middle East could continue to pressure global oil markets and broader risk assets. The report itself did not include fresh crypto market figures, though such geopolitical developments are often watched closely by digital-asset traders.
