Ripple UK CEO Cassie Craddock says financial institutions demand end-to-end blockchain infrastructure. Ripple Payments now spans 60+ markets, with XRP serving as a liquidity bridge to streamline cross-border settlements.

Ripple's global payments network is accelerating its expansion. Cassie Craddock, CEO of Ripple UK and Managing Director for the U.K. and Europe, took to social media platform X this week to state that financial institutions are no longer looking for standalone crypto solutions — they want a true end-to-end infrastructure partner capable of supporting digital asset payments at scale.

“Financial institutions aren’t looking for standalone solutions — they want a true end-to-end infrastructure partner that they can build with. Ripple is uniquely positioned to deliver exactly that. Proud of the momentum we’re building,” Craddock wrote. The comment directly referenced Ripple Payments' latest major expansion.

Ripple Payments Network Reach and Architecture

Ripple Payments is the company’s blockchain-based platform designed for cross-border transactions among banks, payment providers, and fintech firms. The platform currently supports payments in more than 60 markets worldwide, integrating messaging, liquidity sourcing, compliance tools, and settlement infrastructure into a single system. Traditional cross-border networks rely on multiple correspondent banks, which adds friction and delays; blockchain-based infrastructure aims to simplify these processes while improving transparency and speed.

Within Ripple’s broader strategy, XRP functions as a liquidity bridge on the XRP Ledger, enabling fast capital movement across the network for cross‑border settlement. Executives have repeatedly called XRP the company’s “North Star,” highlighting its role in rapid liquidity transfer. However, Ripple does not pitch XRP as a standalone digital asset product. Instead, it bundles custody, virtual accounts, and integrated payment rails around XRP to encourage institutional adoption of blockchain‑based payment systems.

XRP Liquidity Bridge Embedded in Payment Systems

Ripple emphasizes that its platform's appeal lies in the “all-in-one” nature: payment instructions, liquidity matching, compliance screening, and settlement are all completed within a single system, eliminating hand‑offs between different intermediaries. Banks and remittance firms in several countries have already connected to the Ripple network, using XRP as an intermediate liquidity tool between local and foreign currencies.

It is worth noting that using XRP is not mandatory for every transaction on the network — clients may opt out — but Ripple consistently positions XRP as a key efficiency driver. As Ripple Payments continues to roll out across more than 60 markets, XRP’s role as an institutional‑grade liquidity tool is expanding.
