Ripple Prime integrates Coinbase Derivatives and Nodal Clear, offering institutional clients regulated XRP, BTC, SOL futures under CFTC oversight with 24-hour trading. Ripple Prime cleared over $3 trillion in 2025.

Ripple has expanded institutional access to XRP derivatives by integrating Coinbase Derivatives markets into its Ripple Prime brokerage platform through a clearing partnership with Nodal Clear. Clients can now trade a range of crypto futures, including Bitcoin, XRP, Solana, and ETF-linked products, within a CFTC-regulated environment.

Clearing Path via Hidden Road and Nodal Clear

The integration relies on Hidden Road Partners CIV US LLC, a Futures Commission Merchant acquired by Ripple and folded into Ripple Prime's operational structure. It now serves as the clearing conduit linking Ripple clients with derivatives exchanges. Ripple Prime President Noel Kimmel stated the partnership with Nodal Clear and Coinbase Derivatives broadens exchange coverage and introduces new futures trading opportunities for institutional customers globally. He added that integrating Coinbase Derivatives strengthens Ripple Prime's clearing infrastructure while improving market access and trading efficiency. Paul Cusenza, Chairman and CEO of Nodal Clear, confirmed Ripple's entry into the clearing network, noting clients can now access Coinbase Derivatives contracts through Nodal Clear services.

Regulated Trading Around the Clock

All contracts operate under the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) framework, providing institutions a compliant venue for crypto derivatives. The exchange runs a continuous 24-hour schedule, enabling global participants to manage strategies and risk exposure without time-zone interruptions. Coinbase Derivatives offers both institutional-sized and nano futures contracts for XRP, Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Solana, allowing firms to fine-tune exposure with smaller capital commitments.

Ripple Prime's Institutional Footprint

Ripple Prime is a multi-asset brokerage combining prime brokerage tech with clearing and financing infrastructure. The platform had cleared over $3 trillion in transactions by 2025. Adding XRP futures through Coinbase Derivatives further expands its regulated derivatives reach and strengthens Ripple's role in digital asset derivatives infrastructure.
