SBI is using XRP as bait to pull traditional investors into crypto. On June 30, a Tokyo investment seminar hosted by SBI Global Asset Management and the Yomiuri Shimbun Group will give each in-person attendee 1,000 yen worth of XRP — deposited via an active SBI VC Trade account.

Only 333 Spots, No Exceptions

The reward is limited to 333 physical attendees. Online viewers can stream the seminar remotely, but they get no XRP and no merchandise. Organizers stressed that advance registration is mandatory because venue capacity is capped for security reasons. Besides XRP, on-site guests will receive free refreshments and limited "Neko Pitcher" souvenirs.

Speakers Talk Market Resilience

Tomoya Asakura, President and CEO of SBI Global Asset Management, will kick off the seminar by explaining why investment markets keep rising despite geopolitical tensions and economic uncertainty across major economies. Later, media personality and essayist Sayaka Aoki will join him for a session on long-term financial planning, portfolio diversification, and money management for young and inexperienced investors. Aoki writes the financial education column "Sayaka Aoki Learns About Money" for the Yomiuri Shimbun, which organizers hope will make the discussion more relatable.

The event’s core theme is "resilient markets and long-term investment planning." SBI wants to show traditional investors that crypto exposure can come through structured financial discussions — not just speculative trading.

Another Piece in SBI's XRP Push

SBI has been the strongest corporate supporter of XRP-related services in Japan for years. Supporting partners for this seminar include SBI Securities, SBI Asset Management, SBI VC Trade, and Wealth Advisor. The event is the latest step in SBI's ongoing strategy: using regulated financial platforms and educational programs to slowly introduce crypto products to mainstream investors.

For retail investors looking for a regulated on-ramp to crypto, the XRP incentive is the star attraction. But organizers made one thing clear — it’s an educational move, not a push to speculate.
