SK Hynix and Micron continue to face hurdles in achieving top-tier HBM4 speeds, according to SemiAnalysis's latest podcast released August 31. The SK Hynix redesign of its base chip has pushed back HBM4 delivery for NVIDIA's Rubin platform.
Samsung currently holds the best HBM4 technology, the firm said. Broadcom has historically leaned heavily on Samsung for HBM supply. That relationship worked against Broadcom's ASIC business during Samsung's weak HBM3E generation. Now that Samsung leads with HBM4, the same supply chain setup has turned into an edge for Jalapeño.
