Strategy has not bought more bitcoin since June 22, and its holdings were unchanged during the week from July 6 to July 12. Company data also showed that, in the week ended July 12, Strategy sold 4,818,781 shares of MSTR common stock for $467 million in net proceeds. Of that amount, $450 million was added to U.S. dollar reserves, lifting total cash reserves to $3 billion. The company said those reserves could cover 20.4 months of annual preferred dividend obligations totaling $1.763 billion and also support interest payments on outstanding debt. Strategy had earlier sold 32 BTC between May 26 and May 31 for about $2.5 million, and another 3,588 BTC on July 5 for about $216 million. In the week ended July 12, Strategy sold 4,818,781 shares of MSTR common stock and generated $467 million in net proceeds. Of that total, $450 million was used to increase U.S. dollar reserves, bringing the company’s cash reserves to $3 billion.

According to company data, that reserve level can cover 20.4 months of annual preferred stock dividend obligations totaling $1.763 billion, and can also support interest payments on outstanding debt.

Bitcoin sales were used to fund dividends

Strategy sold 32 BTC from May 26 to May 31 for about $2.5 million. It later sold another 3,588 BTC on July 5 for about $216 million.

Michael Saylor said those funds were used to pay quarterly and monthly dividends.
