Tencent is internally testing HermitKit, an AI capability plugin built for WeChat Mini Programs, according to a report cited by ChainCatcher from Dujia. The toolkit offers three integration layers — API, UI components, and demos — giving developers multiple ways to add AI features to Mini Program products.
HermitKit supports streaming large-model calls through ChatApi and lets developers create and manage agents with AgentBuilder. It also supports multi-turn conversations, built-in session storage, and long-term memory. Through AgentChannel, users can bind a remote agent by scanning a code and then send and receive messages.
Tencent has shown seven demo categories for the product so far: AI SDK, Agent Channel, Agent management, Pet Agent, Chatbot, travel planning, and a plugin marketplace. The AI SDK is aligned with cloud development APIs including createModel, generateText, and streamText. The Pet Agent demo lets developers read pet status through interfaces and trigger state changes with props. The plugin marketplace supports searching, publishing, and downloading MCP, Skill, and Expert resource packages.
The product has not been officially launched. The report said the related capabilities may still change, and final details should be subject to Tencent’s official release.
