Tether has led the pre-seed financing round of Bolivian fintech company Peso, backing a push to expand fast, low-cost stablecoin payment services across Latin America. The company said the funding is intended to speed up everyday USDT use across retail, institutional, e-commerce, food delivery, ride-hailing and banking channels. Peso offers global USDT accounts and lets users handle savings, spending, investing and cross-border remittances through a single app. The company has also partnered with Yango, a digital services platform operating in Bolivia, allowing users to pay for food orders in-app with USDT. In addition, Peso provides virtual accounts opened in users’ own names and POS acceptance services, linking USDT directly to Bolivia’s banking system through QR codes and ACH rails for conversion between stablecoins and local fiat currency. Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino said Peso is building payment infrastructure that can move USDT from a savings tool into a channel people use every day. Peso CEO and co-founder Alejandro Terán said the investment will accelerate the company’s product roadmap and let users in Latin America open accounts within minutes and use USDT in daily transactions.

Tether has led the pre-seed financing round for Bolivian fintech company Peso, in a deal aimed at helping the startup expand fast, low-cost stablecoin payment services across Latin America.

The investment is intended to accelerate the use of USDT in day-to-day transactions across retail, institutional, e-commerce, food delivery, ride-hailing and banking channels, according to the announcement cited by Techub News.

Peso offers global USDT accounts, allowing users to manage savings, spending, investing and cross-border remittances through a single app.

Peso adds local payment and banking connections

Peso has already partnered with Yango, a digital services platform operating in Bolivia. Through that integration, users can pay for food orders inside the app directly with USDT.

The company also provides virtual accounts opened in the user’s own name, along with POS acceptance services. Using QR codes and ACH rails, Peso connects USDT directly to Bolivia’s banking system, enabling conversion between stablecoins and local fiat currency.

Executives outline the goal of the deal

Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino said Peso is building everyday payment infrastructure that can turn USDT from a savings tool into a payment channel people rely on daily.

Peso CEO and co-founder Alejandro Terán said the investment will speed up the company’s product roadmap and allow users across Latin America to open accounts within minutes and use USDT in everyday transactions.
