Tok-Edge has come out of stealth with a confirmed valuation of $15 million after raising $1.5 million in a seed round led by veteran investor Marcus Meijer. The digital asset firm said its next milestone is a $100 million first close for its flagship fund later in 2026.

Seed financing sets up a larger 2026 fundraise

According to the company’s statement, the pre-launch round was led by Marcus Meijer. He is also expected to anchor the upcoming fund alongside a syndicate of investors with an initial commitment of up to $10 million. The source material says Meijer founded a fund with $10 billion in assets under management.

Tok-Edge said the flagship fund will cap its initial launch at $21 million to align with its token generation event. After that, the firm plans to pursue the larger fundraising target by approaching institutional allocators including family offices and venture capital investors.

Redemption Token is central to the firm’s structure

The company’s strategy centers on what it calls the Redemption Token, which it describes as a new crypto-asset category built to connect regulated fund structures with the flexibility of DeFi. Instead of keeping the economic instrument entirely locked inside traditional fund administration, Tok-Edge says the token can move freely on public blockchains while ownership rights remain with the fund shares.

Under that model, the token can trade on secondary exchanges or be used in DeFi protocols for yield and liquidity. It also serves as a required key for investors seeking to redeem fund shares at net asset value. Chief investment officer Raees Chowdhury said the Redemption Token can be traded freely in the secondary market while functioning as the mechanism investors use to redeem capital.

Institutional pitch leans on team pedigree

Tok-Edge said its management team combines traditional finance and crypto experience, with a collective record of managing more than $950 billion in assets at firms including KKR, Bain Capital, and CVC Capital. The firm presents that background as part of its appeal to institutions looking for regulated exposure to liquid crypto assets and staking strategies.

Eric Benz, former CEO of Changelly and a board advisor to Tok-Edge, said the structure effectively separates the tradable asset from the legal instrument. Tok-Edge’s stated goal is to pair institutional-grade security with the advantages of 24/7 blockchain markets.
