The UK’s crypto regulatory framework is moving closer to implementation, according to Nick Jones, founder and CEO of Zumo. He said the Financial Conduct Authority, or FCA, will open the application window for crypto-asset authorization on Sept. 30, with the new regime expected to take effect in October 2027. Jones also said clearer regulatory direction is already drawing traditional financial players into the sector. He cited Hargreaves Lansdown, the UK’s largest retail investment platform, as one of the institutions beginning to enter the crypto market.
