ARK analyst Lorenzo Valente said Uniswap processed about 140 million transactions in August this year, putting the decentralized exchange ahead of the combined total recorded by Cboe BZX and NYSE American. The comparison highlights how quickly Uniswap’s activity has scaled relative to long-established trading venues in traditional finance.
Valente noted that NYSE American, part of the New York Stock Exchange, has been operating since 1908, while Uniswap launched in 2018. He also said Uniswap was handling only about 2 million monthly transactions five years ago, underscoring the pace of its growth over a relatively short period.
By transaction count, Valente said the next benchmark for Uniswap is NYSE Arca, which processed about 232 million trades in August. The figures were shared in a post cited by BlockBeats on Sept. 25.
