Among major pairs, the euro slipped to $1.1531 from $1.1535 in the previous session, while the British pound edged up to $1.3482 from $1.3476. The dollar bought 158.9 Japanese yen, compared with 158.93 yen a day earlier. Against other currencies, the greenback strengthened to 0.8082 Swiss francs from 0.804, to 1.4019 Canadian dollars from 1.3996, and to 9.5193 Swedish kronor from 9.5189.
