Wallet in Telegram, the digital asset solution embedded in Telegram's interface, today announced the launch of cross-chain deposits in its self-custodial TON Wallet. Powered by MoonPay, the feature allows over 100 million users to fund their wallets using crypto from popular blockchains without needing to hold TON-native assets beforehand.
1:1 Stablecoin Deposits from 7 Chains
Users can now deposit USDC or USDT from Ethereum, Solana, TRON, BSC, Polygon, Arbitrum, and Base, with automatic conversion into USDT (TON) at a 1:1 rate. This eliminates the need for multiple swaps or exchange intermediation. Additionally, deposits of BTC, ETH, and SOL are automatically converted into Toncoin upon arrival, expanding the range of assets that can enter the TON ecosystem.
Withdrawals Coming Soon: TON USDT to Multi-Chain Stablecoins
Soon, users will be able to withdraw USDT (TON) to USDT or USDC on major blockchains at a 1:1 rate, subject to network and service fees. This two-way cross-chain flow, once live, will make moving in and out of TON as seamless as using a custodial wallet.
Simplifying Self-Custodial Onboarding
Funding a self-custodial wallet has historically been complex. Wallet in Telegram abstracts away cross-chain complexity through a single deposit flow: users select token and origin network, get a deposit address via QR or copy, and transfer from their external wallet or exchange. The minimum deposit requirement applies, but the friction of multiple steps is removed.
“One of the biggest challenges in crypto adoption is the first step – getting users funded and ready to participate,” said a representative of Wallet in Telegram. “Now we’re removing that barrier entirely. Users can bring funds directly from other networks without unnecessary conversions or exchanges.”
150M+ Users and Dual-Wallet Ecosystem
Wallet in Telegram has surpassed 150 million registered users and offers a dual-wallet setup: Crypto Wallet (multi-chain, for trading and peer-to-peer sending) and TON Wallet (self-custodial, for accessing TON dApps). The new deposit feature is exclusive to the self-custodial TON Wallet and fully integrated into Telegram's interface. MoonPay, with over 30 million customers globally and regulatory licenses including BitLicense and MiCA, provides end-to-end infrastructure from deposit detection to final asset delivery.
The launch marks a significant step toward making Telegram a leading Web3 gateway, combining mass distribution with self-custody and open blockchain infrastructure.
