A whale tracked by EmberCN closed a previously opened $110 million Bitcoin long after its stop-loss failed to trigger, then rotated into U.S. equity longs. According to BlockBeats, the position had a market stop set at $80,500. Bitcoin fell to as low as $80,684 at 4 a.m. on Oct. 19, missing the stop by just $184 before rebounding.
The whale exited the BTC long at 5 a.m. at $80,949, locking in a final loss of $3.26 million. After closing the crypto position, the same trader opened $45.8 million worth of long U.S. stock index or equity-linked contracts. The disclosed tickers were TSLA, DRAM and SOXL.
The move stands out because the BTC position was unwound only after price came within a narrow range of the preset stop level without actually hitting it. The sequence reported by EmberCN was specific: a near-stop event at 4 a.m., a manual or subsequent close at 5 a.m., and then a shift in exposure from Bitcoin to U.S. equities.
