The Xenea Wallet team announced via its official X account that the wallet service will be permanently discontinued on July 9, 2026, at 06:00 UTC. Users have roughly 72 hours to export their private keys and import them into MetaMask or any other EVM-compatible wallet. After that deadline, all assets stored inside the app will become inaccessible.
Two Years of Grind at Risk? Backlash Grows
Xenea is an EVM-compatible Layer 1 chain built for decentralized storage of AI data. Its wallet app served as the primary interface for users to complete daily quizzes, run mining sessions, build referral networks, and accumulate Gem points in anticipation of a future token airdrop. With the wallet shutting down abruptly, many users who invested two years into the platform now question whether their efforts will translate into any real rewards.
Notably, the project had already ended its Daily Quiz and Daily Rewards program on June 30, 2026, just weeks before the wallet closure. While the team has not confirmed a direct connection, the timing has fueled intense speculation across Telegram and Discord communities.
Only One Safe Path: Backup Your Private Key
The official statement stresses that users must immediately export and safely store their private key, then import it into an EVM-compatible wallet such as MetaMask. The project also issued a strong warning: never share your private key with anyone, including individuals claiming to be from the Xenea team. Phishing attempts typically surge around service shutdown announcements, making this security reminder critical.
As for the reason behind the wallet shutdown, the team has offered no detailed explanation, promising only that further announcements will come through official channels. The lack of transparency has left many community members feeling uneasy.
Testnet Still Active; Mainnet and TGE on Horizon
Despite the wallet closure, Xenea's testnet (Ubusuna) remains operational. The project has previously indicated that the mainnet launch and Token Generation Event (TGE) are slated for the second half of 2026. This suggests the token economy is still being pursued, but it remains unclear how the wallet shutdown will affect airdrop eligibility and the conversion of accumulated Gem balances.
Upcoming points of interest include the listing date of the XENE token on exchanges, any official clarification on how the airdrop will handle pre-shutdown activity, and whether the testnet faucet will stay open. How a project handles a sudden wallet closure often signals how it will treat its community heading into a token launch.
Time is running out. If you still hold assets or records inside Xenea Wallet, export your private key before July 9, 06:00 UTC. After that, there is no second chance.
