YZi Labs has announced that it is participating in BitGo’s initial public offering, adding its support as the digital asset custody firm prepares to list on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker BTGO. The move ties YZi Labs, formerly known as Binance Labs, to one of the best-known providers of institutional crypto custody and security infrastructure.

BitGo heads to market with $82 billion in assets under custody

BitGo operates as a U.S.-regulated company and has built its business around institutional digital asset services, including secure custody, staking, and stablecoin issuance. The company says it holds $82 billion in assets on its platform and serves more than 5,100 institutional clients across 100 countries. It also highlights a 10-year record without a hack, a figure that remains central to its pitch to large financial clients.

That scope gives BitGo a broader role than simple asset storage. Institutions entering crypto often need custody, compliance processes, and operational tools at the same time. BitGo has positioned itself around that full stack.

YZi Labs targets regulated infrastructure for institutional capital

YZi Labs said the investment fits its strategy of backing companies that build core infrastructure for the digital asset sector. As links between traditional finance and crypto markets grow closer, regulated service providers have become more important for institutions looking for controlled access to the sector. In that context, YZi Labs views BitGo’s compliance-focused offering as part of the framework needed to secure institutional participation.

The reasoning is straightforward. Large investors do not enter the market through narratives alone; they look first at custody, security controls, and regulated access. BitGo sits at that point of entry.

Services extend beyond custody into staking and stablecoin issuance

BitGo’s product range also includes staking-as-a-service and tools for clients to issue their own compliant stablecoins. That expands its reach beyond traditional custody and places it closer to the center of institutional crypto operations. For firms allocating on-chain assets or seeking regulated issuance tools, that mix of services carries practical value.

Chief executive Mike Belshe said BitGo remains focused on security as it transitions into a public company. YZi Labs’ participation strengthens the relationship between the two firms, pairing BitGo’s security platform with YZi Labs’ global investment reach. The IPO stands out as a company milestone, but it also reflects continuing demand for regulated digital asset infrastructure.
