Binance community rewards campaign awaits regulatory approval, He Yi says

He Yi said in a post on X that Binance’s community rewards campaign still needs regulatory approval and is expected to go live tomorrow after it passes review by regulators. She also warned users that there is currently no voucher campaign in place. The notice included a reminder to stay alert to phishing attempts and scam links circulating under the name of promotional activity. The update was reported by ChainCatcher and framed as a compliance-related delay before the campaign can officially launch.

Binance says $150 compensation claim over withdrawal suspension is false

Binance said on X that a community user’s claim about a $150 compensation payment tied to a withdrawal suspension was false. The exchange also said the screenshot circulated alongside the claim had been digitally altered. Earlier, the user had posted that Binance was offering $150 in compensation because of a withdrawal suspension and attached an image that appeared to show the alleged compensation details. Binance’s response directly disputed that account and described the screenshot as manipulated.

Late-October tech selloff puts focus on cash returns as AI growth fails to support Alphabet and Intel shares

U.S. tech stocks sold off sharply in the final two trading days of October, with Alphabet falling 12.6%, Intel dropping 28.6% the next day, and the Philadelphia Semiconductor Index losing about 7.2%. The move came even as AI-linked businesses at both companies continued to post strong growth. Google Cloud revenue rose 103% year over year, while Intel’s data center and AI segment grew 78%. The market reaction centered less on whether AI demand is weakening and more on the quality of that growth. Alphabet reported third-quarter revenue of $127.577 billion, but search advertising missed expectations and capital expenditures of $51.355 billion exceeded operating cash flow of $42.290 billion, pushing free cash flow to negative $9.065 billion. Inventory also climbed sharply as TPU systems remained unsold. Intel posted third-quarter revenue of $16.513 billion, yet its fourth-quarter guidance of $15 billion to $16 billion came in below analyst expectations. Server growth was driven largely by a 54% increase in average selling prices, while unit volume rose only about 10%. The company also continued to face weak PC demand, supply constraints in servers, and losses at its foundry unit, where about 94% of revenue still came from internal transactions. Across the sector, investors are reassessing how much capital AI expansion requires and how quickly that spending can turn into profit and cash flow.

Users shift funds to OKX after Binance hack, Star Xu says OKX faces APT attacks every month

After Binance was hit by a hack involving about $6.3 billion, some users began spreading funds across other exchanges. On Nov. 1, OKX founder Star Xu responded on X to a user who said they had moved part of their holdings to OKX, saying the exchange detects and responds to a range of cyber threats every month, including advanced persistent threat, or APT, attacks targeting the crypto sector. Xu said OKX would also "seriously learn lessons" from recent security incidents affecting industry peers. The user said they entered the crypto market in 2023 and 2024 and had seen Bybit, Gate, Bitget and Binance all suffer hacks over the past three years. They said Binance’s latest incident hit hardest because about 80% of their assets were held there, and they had even consolidated funds from other exchanges into Binance eight hours before the theft. Xu added that OKX launched automated penetration testing based on large language models more than a year ago. Binance said later on Nov. 1 that it had resumed withdrawals for assets including BTC, USDT and USDC and had replenished about 95% of the affected amount.

Binance resumes withdrawals for select assets on Polygon and Avalanche C-Chain

Binance has resumed withdrawals for a group of assets on Polygon and Avalanche C-Chain, according to an official platform announcement cited by Odaily. The restored withdrawals cover POL, USDT, and USDC on the Polygon network, along with AVAX, USDT, and USDC on Avalanche C-Chain. Binance said additional assets and networks will have withdrawals restored in phases after security checks are completed. The exchange had already resumed withdrawals for SOL, USDT, and USDC on the Solana network earlier. The update points to a staged recovery process rather than a full restoration across all supported networks at once.
