Cisco earnings preview: how much of its $9 billion AI order target will show up as revenue?

Cisco is set to report fourth-quarter results and full-year fiscal 2026 numbers after the U.S. market close on Aug. 12, 2026, with Wall Street looking for about $1.17 in earnings per share and roughly $16.83 billion in revenue. The larger issue going into the print is not whether the company can clear quarterly consensus, but how quickly its expanding artificial intelligence order book turns into recognized sales. Cisco has lifted its full-year AI infrastructure order expectation from $5 billion to about $9 billion, yet its AI infrastructure revenue outlook only moved from $3 billion to $4 billion. Against full-year revenue guidance of $62.8 billion to $63.0 billion, that implies AI revenue of only around 6% this fiscal year. Third-quarter results had already pushed the bar higher, with record revenue, stronger adjusted EPS, and product order growth across enterprise, public sector, service provider, and cloud customers. Investors are now likely to focus on fiscal 2027 guidance, AI order updates, gross margin trends, recurring software and subscription growth, backlog commentary, and any management discussion of tariff effects. The gap between bookings and revenue recognition remains the central issue in this report.

Dexterous hand startups split into two camps as 2026 funding reaches RMB 28.51 billion

A report cited by MarsBit and originally published by ITjuzi says China’s dexterous hand segment has logged 74 financing events involving 47 companies from January to Aug. 3, 2026, with disclosed funding totaling about RMB 28.51 billion. The report divides the field into two groups: 15 humanoid robot makers that develop dexterous hands in-house, and 32 third-party suppliers that sell complete hands or core components such as tactile sensors, micro motors, and precision screws. The funding gap between the two camps is wide. The 15 robot body makers accounted for 23 deals and about RMB 18 billion to RMB 20 billion in disclosed funding during the first seven months of the year, while the 32 suppliers completed 51 deals worth about RMB 8.51 billion. The report argues that in-house hand development has become a standard requirement for humanoid robot OEMs, but the deeper component stack remains largely outsourced. It also says the supplier side is fragmenting into three distinct tracks: complete dexterous hand module vendors, tactile sensing companies, and core drivetrain and transmission component makers. While complete-hand vendors are facing crowded competition, companies focused on tactile sensing and specialized parts are described as having stronger technical moats and a longer runway for commercialization.

Week Ahead: U.S. CPI in Focus as Lumentum, CoreWeave and Others Report

Markets are heading into a busy week after weaker-than-expected U.S. jobs data last week cooled rate-hike expectations. The main focus now shifts to Wednesday’s release of July CPI and core CPI data, followed by July PPI, both of which are expected to offer fresh signals on the Federal Reserve’s next steps. Corporate earnings are also in focus, with optical module names Lumentum and Coherent, AI infrastructure company CoreWeave, Cisco, and Applied Materials all set to report or host earnings calls as the semiconductor earnings season nears its end. Beyond inflation and earnings, investors are also watching the Bank of Japan’s July policy meeting summary, weekly ADP employment data, EIA crude inventories, U.S. jobless claims, retail sales, and preliminary August University of Michigan consumer sentiment and one-year inflation expectations. The week’s calendar combines macro data, central bank communication, and earnings from companies tied to AI computing infrastructure and semiconductors.

US July CPI in focus as September rate-hike odds ease; semiconductor earnings season nears its end

Markets head into the new week with inflation data back at the center of the Federal Reserve debate after a sharp repricing in rate expectations. Over the past week, signs that shipping could resume through the Strait of Hormuz helped push oil prices sharply lower. At the same time, weaker-than-expected US July nonfarm payrolls and downward revisions to the prior two months drove the market-implied probability of a September Fed rate hike down from about 55% to 44%. That shift coincided with the biggest weekly gains for the three major US stock indexes since mid-April, while spot gold climbed above $4,370 an ounce. The coming week now turns on US inflation readings, with July CPI and core CPI due Wednesday, followed by PPI on Thursday and retail sales plus the University of Michigan consumer sentiment data on Friday. Investors are also tracking the final stretch of the semiconductor earnings season and AI-linked names. Upcoming reports from Applied Materials, Cisco and CoreWeave are among the releases in focus. BlockBeats said market participants will keep watching remarks from Fed officials ahead of Jackson Hole, as internal divisions at the central bank remain and Chair Warsh has stayed silent.

JPMorgan survey shows buy-side estimates for chip names running above company guidance, with ON at the center of the debate

A JPMorgan buy-side survey dated Aug. 3 points to a gap between weak price action in semiconductor stocks and still-firm earnings expectations heading into results. The most closely watched name is ON Semiconductor, where investors remain sharply split over the SYNA deal. Some see the transaction as dilutive to the high-voltage data center narrative and at odds with prior management messaging around exiting non-core operations. Even so, positioning has shifted over the past month, with new longs and short covering increasing as ON moved from net short to slightly net short after roughly a 25% share-price pullback. Survey responses cited by TechFlowPost show buy-side estimates for ON’s second-quarter revenue, gross margin, EPS, third-quarter outlook and fiscal 2027 EPS all above company guidance. About 60% of respondents also expect ON to modestly raise its 2026 AI revenue target from the current roughly $500 million level, though expectations remain low. JPMorgan published similar survey results for Applied Materials, AMD, Arista, Coherent, Cisco, Lumentum, Sandisk and Western Digital. Across most of those names, average buy-side forecasts for revenue, gross margin and earnings per share came in above management guidance. The report’s central message is that investor earnings expectations across the semiconductor group remain stronger than the recent selloff might suggest.

Bitget says rToken AUM reached $114 million five weeks after launch

Bitget said its tokenized stock product rToken reached about $114 million in assets under management as of July 6, 2026, just five weeks after launching on June 2. Over the same period, cumulative trading volume climbed to $671.37 million, with average daily volume at $19.75 million and a single-day high of $56.16 million. The company said the figures show that rToken has quickly drawn attention from crypto investors looking for exposure to U.S. stock-related assets through a 24/7 trading interface. Asset allocation data cited in the report showed rSPCX as the largest rToken, accounting for 23.51% of total TVL, followed by rCSCO at 17.75% and rNVDA at 13.38%. Bitget Research said early demand has centered on two areas: private-market-style assets that are harder to access through traditional brokerages, and AI infrastructure names spanning networking, chips, memory, semiconductors and computing infrastructure. Bitget Research also pointed to high turnover in early trading, noting that cumulative volume was close to six times current AUM. The report added that investor interest has widened beyond AI into themes such as storage, electric vehicles, software and communications, while second-quarter earnings season could lift near-term trading activity.
