Ripple said it has received preliminary approval from Luxembourg’s regulator for a crypto services license. The process is still ongoing, but full approval would allow the company to offer regulated crypto asset and stablecoin services across 30 countries in the EEA under MiCA.

Out of 174 registered CASPs under MiCA, only 14 are authorized to run a centralized exchange (CEX). Custody and transfer services dominate, while Germany hosts mostly traditional banks and Malta emerges as an exchange hub.
