Ripple Secures Full MiCA CASP License, Gains Access to 30 EEA Markets

Ripple said it has received a crypto-asset service provider (CASP) license from Luxembourg’s financial regulator, the CSSF, completing its authorization under the EU’s Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA). The approval allows the company to offer crypto-asset services across all 30 countries in the European Economic Area (EEA). The license follows Ripple’s in-principle approval in June and clears the way for its compliant crypto payments products to be offered to financial institutions, enterprises, and commercial clients throughout the region. Ripple’s UK and Europe Managing Director Cassie Craddock said the authorization confirms the company now fully meets MiCA requirements and is ready to scale operations in Europe after the transition period. The CASP registration adds to Ripple’s existing EU electronic money institution (EMI) license. The company said it now holds more than 75 regulatory approvals globally and also obtained crypto asset registration from the UK Financial Conduct Authority in January. With MiCA’s final transition period ending on July 1 and ESMA reporting 280 authorized CASP entities as of July 3, Ripple joins Kraken, Coinbase, OKX, and Crypto.com among major crypto firms with full MiCA authorization.
