JPMorgan Says the Global Economy Is Entering a New Investment Cycle, Flags Fed Hike Risk and AI Chip Shortage

JPMorgan said in its early-September global market outlook that the world economy is positioning for a new investment cycle. The bank expects the Federal Reserve to raise rates by 25 basis points in December, lifting the fed funds target range to 3.75% to 4.00%. It also forecasts 2026 U.S. GDP growth of 2.0%, core PCE inflation at 3.5% and unemployment at 4.1%. The report says the gap between market pricing and the Fed’s own policy path is widening and could drive volatility in the coming quarters. JPMorgan sees the 2-year Treasury yield at 4.30% and the 10-year at 4.85% by the end of 2026, with the curve steepening to 55 basis points. On assets, the bank expects the U.S. dollar to retain support into a possible December hike, while oil and copper reflect a mixed supply-demand picture. It also argues that AI infrastructure spending remains in a multi-year supercycle, with GPU scarcity, grid investment and regional localization shaping the next phase of growth.

Ahead of Arc’s public mainnet launch, institutions, trading apps and meme launchpads are already taking positions

Circle’s Arc blockchain is set to open public mainnet access on Sept. 16, with USDC used for gas from day one and a permissioned validator set maintaining the network. Before that date arrives, the early shape of the ecosystem is already visible. Circle has named 11 founding validators, including BlackRock, DTCC, Galaxy, ICE, Mastercard, MoneyGram, Standard Chartered and Visa, while saying more than 100 institutions and ecosystem teams are involved during the private mainnet phase. BlackRock is expected to deploy its BUIDL fund on Arc, and Circle and DTCC are planning tokenization work tied to DTC-custodied assets starting in the second half of 2027. The first wave of user activity may come from several directions at once. Fomo said it will support trading on Arc on launch day, while edgeX said it will join as a day-one partner with USD/JPY perpetuals and more than 150 perpetual markets across U.S. equities, commodities and crypto. Circle also expects Aave, Uniswap, Morpho, FalconX, GSR, Keyrock and others to be present at launch, though Aave V4 on Arc still depends on governance. On the speculative side, meme tokens are already trading on chain ID 5042, and launchpads including Tolly, Warp and Arcpad are competing for token issuance flow with different designs around bonding curves, locked liquidity and fee distribution.

Arc’s Sept. 16 mainnet debut sets up a first-day fight between meme launches and DeFi liquidity

Circle is set to open the public mainnet of Arc on Sept. 16, introducing a Layer 1 network built around stablecoin-based finance with USDC used for gas and sub-second final settlement. The network, maintained by a permissioned validator set, arrives with backing from 11 founding validators including BlackRock, DTCC, Galaxy, ICE, Mastercard, Standard Chartered and Visa. Circle has also said more than 100 institutions and ecosystem teams are already involved while the chain remains in its private mainnet phase. Attention is now shifting to where the first wave of onchain activity will land. Fomo has said it will support trading on day one, while edgeX plans to launch a 24-hour USD/JPY FX perpetual and more than 150 perpetual markets covering U.S. equities, commodities and crypto, all margined and settled in native USDC. Circle also expects Aave, Uniswap, Aerodrome, Morpho and several capital service firms to be live around launch, though Aave V4 on Arc still requires governance approval. At the same time, meme infrastructure is already taking shape. Projects such as Tolly, Warp and Arcpad are competing for token issuance flow, each with different mechanisms for pricing, LP ownership and fee distribution. With USDC acting as both gas token and quote asset, Arc’s launch could send initial funds into meme pools, stablecoin pools and lending markets at the same time, making Sept. 16 the first real test of how the network’s liquidity will form.

TRON USDT Supply Overtakes Ethereum as Bhutan Moves 400 BTC and Whale Risk Builds on Hyperliquid

Market updates from Sept. 2 to Sept. 3 spanned macro rates, whale activity, exchange products, AI financing, and sharp moves in token-linked speculation. TRON’s USDT supply rose by $4 billion over the past month to $94.27 billion, overtaking Ethereum. On-chain data also showed a Bhutan government-linked address moved 400 BTC worth about $30.62 million. In derivatives, a whale long roughly 45,000 ETH on Hyperliquid sold 1,500 ETH to add margin as liquidation pressure increased. Beyond crypto-native flows, U.S. and U.K. bond yields remained in focus. Former U.K. Prime Minister Liz Truss warned that surging sovereign yields could force emergency spending cuts, while JPMorgan Chase Private Bank’s Grace Peters said a move in the 10-year U.S. Treasury yield toward 5% could trigger a 5% to 8% pullback in global equities. Elsewhere, Coinbase launched regulated crypto and commodities derivatives for eligible investors in Canada, Bubblemaps flagged concentrated control risks around the CHUMP token, and several AI developments landed at once, including Lyte’s $165 million Series C, Google’s Gemini 3.8 Flash rollout, and Meta’s Muse Spark 1.3 update.

BiFu pitches one-account access to gold and FX as crypto traders look beyond digital assets

A Foresight article argues that more crypto traders are paying attention to gold and foreign exchange as macro drivers increasingly move digital assets and traditional markets at the same time. The piece points to gold’s sharp 2026 swing — from a record $5,589 per ounce on Jan. 28 to below $4,000 on June 24, its first break of that level since November 2025, according to data cited from Reuters and Bloomberg — as a sign that major opportunities are no longer confined to crypto. The report says BiFu is trying to lower the barrier for crypto-native users to trade traditional products through BiNet, its network for connecting asset classes under a unified account structure. Under that setup, users can trade BTC contracts and instruments such as XAU/USD from the same account without moving funds across separate platforms. The article also says FX and commodities on BiFu are offered as CFDs, with margin trading and long-short functionality. Foresight frames the pitch around three use cases: hedging crypto exposure around Federal Reserve decisions, rotating into gold when crypto markets go sideways, and turning macro views on the dollar or rates into direct positions in FX or gold. It adds that a previous gold-themed trading campaign on the platform attracted about 3 million USDT in cumulative participation.

Circle's CCTP Expands to Support Native Cross-Chain Transfers of EURC Stablecoin

Circle's Cross-Chain Transfer Protocol (CCTP) has been extended to support the native cross-chain transfer of the euro-denominated stablecoin EURC, as announced in an official Circle blog post. The protocol employs the same burn-and-mint mechanism used for USDC, ensuring secure and efficient cross-chain settlement. Initial support includes Ethereum and Base, with plans for future expansion. Developers can now integrate a single interface to transfer both USDC and EURC, significantly reducing the complexity of onboarding multiple bridge services. This unified approach not only simplifies integration but also enhances liquidity efficiency across chains. EURC is issued by Circle's regulated subsidiary, and CCTP does not hold or manage user assets, maintaining the security model familiar to users of USDC. The move marks a step forward in expanding the utility of euro stablecoins in the multi-chain ecosystem.
