Circle launches native USDC, EURC and CCTP support on Plasma

Circle has rolled out native USDC and EURC on Plasma, along with its Cross-Chain Transfer Protocol, or CCTP, and Bridge Kit. The move gives the stablecoin-focused Layer 1 direct access to Circle-issued dollar and euro tokens and the company’s own crosschain transfer infrastructure. On Aug. 28, Circle published mainnet contract addresses for both assets. At the time they were checked, the linked Plasmascan pages showed a maximum total supply of 4,654,322.737666 USDC held by six holders, and 12,866.64 EURC held by five holders. Circle also said eligible institutional traders and teams will be able to use fiat on- and offramps for USDC payments and settlement on Plasma, as well as deposits, withdrawals and API features. Users can access USDC through Plasma One, while developers can integrate both USDC and EURC into apps on the network.

Regulatory developments came from three major jurisdictions. In the U.S., the Financial Accounting Standards Board proposed guidance on when some digital assets, including stablecoins, may qualify as cash equivalents under GAAP, with comments due by Nov. 19, 2026. In the U.K., the government is moving to give the Bank of England a secondary legal objective to support innovation in digital currency and payments. On the corporate and product side, The Wall Street Journal reported that JPMorgan Chase, Bank of America, Wells Fargo and Santander are working toward a global stablecoin alliance. Coinbase has launched tokenized stocks natively on Base under its B20 standard, while Franklin Templeton, Bitwise, Bitfinex Securities, Revolut, Fasset and Entropy.io also posted fresh RWA and stablecoin developments.

Revolut launches EURR euro stablecoin, with Bridge as legal issuer and reserve manager

Revolut has started a phased rollout of EURR, its first euro-denominated stablecoin, beginning with selected eligible customers in Denmark, Poland and Portugal. The company said the token will later expand to other markets across the European Economic Area during 2026 and will be integrated into the Revolut retail app to connect euros, crypto assets, external wallets and supported blockchain networks. Despite carrying the Revolut brand, EURR is not legally issued by Revolut Bank or another Revolut group crypto entity. The legal issuer is Luxembourg-registered Bridge Building S.A., which also handles minting, burning, reserve management and fiat redemptions. Under the white paper, EURR is classified as an e-money token under MiCA and is designed to maintain a value equivalent to €1 per token. Each circulating EURR must be backed by €1 or equivalent euro-denominated reserve assets. The rollout also adds a new layer to Revolut’s existing crypto stack, which already includes its retail app, the Revolut X trading platform and Revolut Ramp. At launch, media checks and Bridge’s reserve page showed live deployment on Ethereum and Polygon, while the white paper listed a broader set of supported networks.
