Filecoin’s Solstice draft proposes changes to network reward distribution

Filecoin has published draft proposal FIP-0118, outlining a planned overhaul of how rewards are distributed across the network. The proposal would remove the Filecoin Plus verification process and let consensus providers automatically receive full rewards. It also introduces a new role called Service Orchestrators, which would receive part of block rewards to support the sales and service layer aimed at bringing in more paying customers and data. In the draft, on-chain payment volume would replace Fil+ verification as the signal for useful storage. Storage providers would continue to earn rewards through consensus, while a portion of block rewards would be redirected to parties focused on attracting paid demand to the network.
